Power House Athletics is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Track Club mentoring and motivating STUDENT Athletes throughout Central Florida. Power House Athletics is a unifying of teams committed to serving at-risk and underprivileged youth ages 4-18 in the areas of Orlando, Ocoee, Deland, and Groveland. Separate programs that started dating back to 2011 with parents coaching their kids, close family, and friends has grown steadily to now have 15 coaches, 3 administrators, and volunteers to help us motivate, inspire, mentor, and train over 130 athletes covering Central Florida. Most of the coaches and volunteers have also been sponsors in the past.
We strive for and celebrate excellence in the classroom as well as accomplishments in the area of athletics. The STUDENT athletes are provided education and guidance in fitness, academics, nutrition, and life skills management. Approximately half the kids are honor roll students with 25% achieving straight A's and top academic recognition during the previous school year. Getting these kids to college on multiple fronts, academically and athletically, provides them choices which directly impacts their future and can change the vision and fortunes of their family.
This program has enabled these STUDENT athletes to compete in AAU and USATF events primarily throughout Central and North Florida as well as competing in national level events throughout the country. This year, we want to expose them to better competition while introducing them to college campuses at the same time throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
Our program has successfully qualified and sent athletes to compete in the AAU Junior Olympics and Disney Club Championships for several years in multiple events. In 2017, our combined clubs had 52 STUDENT Athletes qualify for AAU Junior Olympics of the 90 that competed. Many qualified in multiple events and medaled at Disney Club Championshps.
We are the 2018 FLYRA Middle School State Championship Runner-Ups
