Our History

Power House Athletics is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Track & Cross Country Club mentoring & motivating STUDENT Athletes throughout Central Florida.  We are a unifying of teams committed to serving at-risk & underprivileged youth ages 5-18 in the areas of Orlando, Groveland, Apopka, and West Orange and Lake County.  Separate programs that started  dating back to 2011 with parents coaching their kids & close family, has grown to now have 10 coaches, a host of volunteers, and some extremely supportive parents to help us motivate, inspire, mentor, and train over 130 athletes covering Central Florida.  Most of the coaches and volunteers have also been sponsors in the past.

We celebrate excellence in the classroom as loudly as we do accomplishments in athletics.  The STUDENT athletes are provided education and guidance in fitness, nutrition, and life skills management while we stress the importance of prioritizing the importance of education.  Approximately half the kids are Honor Roll students with 25% achieving straight A's and top academic recognition during the school year.  Our goal is getting these kids to the best college available on academics and/or athletic scholarships providing them choices which directly impacts their future and can change the vision and fortunes of their family.

Our STUDENT Athletes compete in AAU and USATF events primarily in Central Florida and yearly National Level competition in the Southeastern US.  This year, we want to expose them to better competition while introducing them to college campuses at the same time throughout the Southeast United States.

Our program has qualified & sent athletes to compete in the AAU Junior Olympics & Disney Club Championships for several years in almost all events.  In 2019, our club had over 50 STUDENT Athletes qualify for AAU Junior Olympics of the 75 that competed.  Many qualified in multiple events and medaled at Disney Club Championshps.

Our efforts last year led to Top 10 Finishes for our Elementary and Middle School Divison Boys and Girls at the 2019 FLYRA IMG Elementary and Middle School State Meet.
